Another 2 lbs lost has incentivised me to be very good today. I have my quinoa porridge when I get to work with a cup of coffee followed by a ginger herbal tea. I was worried about the quinoa being a bit bland and I resisted adding some honey to it. The tartness of the raspberries livened the dish up and being hungry and devoured it even though I was trying to savour every mouthful and takemy time eating it. The hot drinks help to alleviate my hunger but I start nibbling on my halloumi salad early and have to resist eating all of it before lunchtime.
Determined to be good I visited the coffee machine more than usually for herbal teas. As soon as mid-day arrived I ate my salad. I go out for my lunchtime walk quite late so that the afternoon is shorter and I can get home for something else to eat. Everyone on my train journey home seemed to be munching on something - sandwiches, crisps, nuts and the aroma of a pasty filled the carriage.
When I get home I finish the Green vegetable soup. Luckily tonight I go to my salsa lesson so I won't need to sit around dreaming about food. In fact I feel quite energetic and positive.
I have been dancing salsa for about 10 years and dance at least once most weekends and try and go regularly to the Thursday night class which is within walking distance of where I live. I usually have a glass of wine there and have debated all day whether to have one or not,trying to justify it one way or the other. I walk there and to the bar and ask for mineral water and I'm really proud of myself because I have resisted and am starting to feel really positive about what I am achieving, even the hunger pangs have subdued. The routines were challenging and I didn't have time to think about food while I was dancing.
I go to bed feeling really proud of myself.
